So, time for a blog posting, it’s been while…

I’ve been in Florida here for the week and a half or so. I got sent out from work for my first business trip. I’m out here supporting some software we produced back at my plant, and I even wrote a fair amount of it! I know, I know, I’m pretty cool.

The hours out here have been pretty long, well, compared to my usual 9 hours at work. I’m working like 11ish hours out here, and it’s longer, but it’s okay. During the first week out here I went out to eat at a few new restaurants and such, but lately, I’ve been hitting the old stand-bys like Wendy’s, Subway, and Fazoli’s. I’ve been trying to hang on to some of the money from my per diem meal pay, so I can make up just in case I have to pay overages on my hotel… The first night here I stayed at an Extended Stay Hotel, and the next night I switched to Marriott down the road cause everyone else was staying there. So I changed there, but unfortunately, the rate was quite a bit higher (which I knew would be some amount higher, but not the amount it was). So, just in case Lockheed tries to stick it to me by not paying, which they supposedly should, I’ll have some extra put away from per diem to help cover it. If they do cover it, I’ll have some extra. Now I’m back at the Extended Stay because the last guy from Arizona changed to there, so I’m back.

On the bright side, I leave back for Phoenix tomorrow!! I’m excited to go back home for a day and a half before I go to Flagstaff for the weekend. I figured I’d go up and visit the icebox and a friend. That’s about it. I’m at work right now, “supporting” the people here. As my software hasn’t had any problems, I haven’t had a ton to do. Okay then… back to stuff.

Holy crap! It's ridiculously hot outside today! It's like 112 or so in the shade. And why did I stay in Phoenix when I could have moved to the nice & cool Boise? Oh well...

I just got back from going to Costco where I bought a new mattress for my house... I bought umm, this one... It's a nice california king. It was only a pain because it's really hot.

This morning I put a new radiator in my caddi because the old one was wasted. It's a bit better, but not incredible. Who cares... it's a crappy car hardly worth fixing at this point. And my insurance went up on it for no reason... I'll show them, by changing insurance companies! I'm not gonna pay any $125/month on that car. That's more than the car is worth.

So, that's about it... I have to start packing up here before long.

Well, it's July 3rd... And I took the day off!! Yesss....

So... my house is getting nearly complete here... I went by today, and it's pretty much all together, even has the carpet. It's just missing a couple miscellaneous things, and the thermostat to be installed. I also went to Pruitt's yesterday, and got some furniture. My grandpa bought me a really nice dining room table with 6 chairs!! It's hott... And then, I bought myself a couple leather couches that are really nice.

Here's the pictures below... of the house (the interior),

the dining room table (crappy picture quality),

and the couches (more crappy picture quality).

So this will be a fairly short post, as I'm watching Aeon Flux at the moment.

So, I'm supposed to be moving into my house in about 3 weeks, which I'm stoked about. I locked in my rate today and I found out that I'm going approved for the loan. It's weird, almost... gonna have a whole place to myself. I'll have a real job & a house and everything... craziness.

Here's the house as it stands:

What else... I've been just working lately and stuff, nothing cool. Just preparing to move into my house, then all the interesting stuff will happen. Until then... maybe I'll do some shopping :)

So, it's been a long while since I made a post, probably because of the fact that I doubt a lot of people read this stupid blog, but you never know. So... what's up with me now, and for the past month...

Well, work has kept me busy & stressed for the past couple weeks with this project I was working on, that I finally finished, other than some integration testing this next week/weekend. So, yay, go me. It took me a while, but when I started I was still learning a lot of stuff with the junk I'm working on, as well as c++, which I'm slightly better at now.

What else... I started playing soccer once a week for the past couple of weeks, which has been fun. LOTS! of running... and seeing as how I almost misspelled LOTS/LOST... have you seen that show lately?? The last episode (5/3/2006) pwned!!! You wouldn't have expected everything that happened. This show gets better by the week! As long as Evangeline Lilly makes it to the end, cause she's HOTT.

Then, besides that all... I BOUGHT A HOUSE!!!

Bought April 30th (at least that's when I signed the initial paperwork from the builder) a home that someone fell out of for some reason or another I don't know. In any case... it's in Goodyear, AZ, which means it's about 2.5 miles from work!! With the rising cost of gas due to Bush's lack of diplomatic policy, should help save me a little money fo sho.

I'll try to link to a picture here... and hopefully the link stays working. So that's my excitement for the time-being. The house should be completed in July, so I'll have a nice big house (well, 1530 sq ft is big enough for just me!) to live in for a while, and build up some equity. So that's my story for the past while. I'm pretty excited with my purchase. Oh, and did I mention I got it for cheap because I'm gonna use the builder's mortgage company? Yeah, real cheap.

So, I'm in Tucson this weekend staying with Missy and Mark... and just so you guys know... THIS is how popular & cool Missy is... doing physics homework, WOW!

So, tomorrow, I'll be hanging out with Kim, like, all day! Wow... that'll be a lot of catching up for sure... haven't seen her in months!!

At least I got my cool laptop just in time to travel down to Tucson, which I'll say has been a good buy! This thing is going to come in handy. Today I just bought an okay bag and a cordless mouse for it.

So, I'll post some time later after I get back to Phoenix. Work has been pretty busy lately. I worked about 45 hours this week, so that was a bunch. I even went in for a couple hours today on my day off. Yup. Enjoy

This is a link to the fact that Bush had warning of how bad Katrina would be before it struck, and that he said he'd do whatever necessary even though nothing really happened as far as a good response.

Okay... so I'm getting antsy to get out of here... So, I've been working like 5 and a half months now, and still living at home, saving up money, which I know everyone says is good to do and stuff, but MAN! I'm tired of being at home... it's so restrictive on doing stuff. I mean, there's not anything crazy I want to do, but I can't have people come over and hang out or anything cause the place is constantly a wreck. I dont' have the money or time it would take to make this place acceptable for people to come over.

I'm just hoping the US pulls a Japan, in that the housing bubble breaks, and housing prices go down a cool 10-15%, then I could afford something, YES! (As long as the interest rates don't sky rocket).

Eh who knows, I'll live here till I cannot stand it any longer. If I can't afford one that I want then, maybe I'll just get an apartment for a few months or something just to get out...

Oh geez, the future is looking bleak my friends... very bleak. I need to win the lottery or get a massive pay increase.

So... I've been busy at work trying to get this complicated project working, and also busy with Volleyball & the gym lately.

Just got my taxes finished the other day with my Grandpa, and it turns out I'm gonna get a H-U-G-E refund! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I'm stoked.

Not too much else lately. Here's a picture of me & my friend Tim from work volunteering at the Banner Health Safety Fair at the Peoria Sports Complex a while ago... just thought it'd be interesting. Enjoy!

So... a little update I guess.

I've been messing with Linux here for a little while... trying to get it up and running on my computer. Well, it's up & running, it's just that I'm trying to get a Windows emulator so I can play games on it. The idea would be to be able to get it so I wouldn't have to pay for stupid Windows :-P, but I know I probably still will, this is just a little pet project.

Work has been keeping me busy lately, as I've had an individual project I've been working on. I'm also on the newer-higher group called CHAP (College Hire Acceleration Program) as the community service leader. I thought it'd be easy, but apparently, I'm going to have a bunch of work to do. In the next couple of weeks, I have to help organize Engineers Week, which will take plenty of work but will score good brownie points :).

Then also... I got in a small accident the other day, which has left my little cadillac (jaloppy) injured. Hopefully I can get it fixed, or at least the parts, this weekend. So, scrap the Vegas trip. This is more important at the moment.

I didn't get a ticket from it, which is always a plus :).

This weekend I hope to be able to sleep some, cause I passed out in my cube today accidentally for a couple minutes. But I was still fairly productive anyways :).

So that's it for now... no Vegas for superbowl, but I might be going to a superbowl party at a co-worker's place, and maybe the new cute engineering girl will be there, and maybe some others :-D. Here's to hoping!!

P.S. - Got my W2 for work, and it looks like I made little enough hopefully so I can maybe if I'm lucky get back the ~$3000 I paid in federal taxes this year, which would be awesome!

Google will not give up search information!

That is why google rocks. They won't give up to Bush's rediculous need to know what people search for, and who. Google is refusing, and I support them 100%!!!!

This presidency is rediculous!

Soooooo... I haven't updated in a while it seems... I've been busy with stuff, so lay off. Actually not so much... Howabout a quick recap???

New Years - Fun time... went to my friend Justin's & got kinda sloshed on various liquor & really strong jello shots. Needless to say I passed out there. But on the up-side, I met a couple girls there, so that was cool... and got to hang out with Justin, it had been a while.

Post New Years - Well... we didn't get the Monday after New Years off, which kinda sucked... but we got just over 50 hours of Floating Holiday, plus like 45 hours of scheduled holiday time, so that works out pretty well... 5.16 days of floating holiday. And this year we have 3 weeks of paid vacation!!!! THAT RULES SO MUCH YOU DON'T KNOW...

At work... it's going pretty good... I've been on an unclassified for a project for a while now, and I'm just about done... done tomorrow actually. My boss even said I've done a good job, so that's reassuring... at least I'm earning my money now :).

This week I've been sleeping like crap for some reason... I think it's cause I'm constantly hoping this new girl with go out to lunch with the rest of it... she's a nerd type, which is hott!

That's my excitement so far... I didn't make it through volleyball yesterday cause I was too tired, but at least today I made it to the gym, so I'm almost recovered!

And finally... check out my domain (www.guywmustang.com) because I have a cool video about 9/11 on there that you should all watch.

OH yes.... I'm on vacation!!! It's nice. I've been sleeping A TON!! And doing mundane stuff for the most part. I've been watching some animals for a family we know from church. They have 3 dogs and 3 cats there to watch, and 2 dogs are puppies.

I went there today to find that they somehow got open one of those plastic 64-ish ounce juice containers, filled with grape juice! I didn't even know that was possible, but apparently it is... I cleaned it up the best I could, and even vacuumed some of the house cause it was dirty cause of the dogs tearing stuff up.

Been trying to get Call of Duty 2 to copy for Jeff... to see if it'll even play on his old computer. We have yet to see.

Lately I've been big into counterstrike source. It's a remake of the classic counter-strike game, but built on the half life 2 game engine. It was hard to get used to, but I'm into it now... it's distracting me from my other standbys: soldier of fortune 2, party poker, call of duty 2, and quake 4. But oh well. I'll play them all eventually. I even converted our sof2 server, which no one plays in, to being a counterstrike server.

In other news, I think our sof2 clan -[wtf]- is pretty much done. The problem is I'm not that into the game any more, just cause it's old and stuff, and the most active people have left for other games and such. Kind of a downer, but it happens. Not sure yet about whether to try & get a counterstrike source clan going, or just play around in various servers, and with people I know.

In any case... only a few days left on vacation, ugh. I even went as far as getting my hair cut today :), and I washed my car yesterday, so it's all hott again.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Well, I know this has been the case for a lot of people... that it hasn't really felt like the christmas season for some reason. I've had that thing too, I think it's cause time has just flown lately, with work and such... time goes so fast. Yet, at the same time, it moves along slowly due to the fact that I haven't really done that much recently, except work and such...

But in any case, with Christmas here, and it falling on a Sunday, I figured I'd go to church tomorrow as I haven't been in a while, and maybe that will help ring in the holiday season before going to my grandparents' house later in the afternoon for lunch.

But in any case... for those of you that actually read this, Merry Christmas, and for those that don't celebrate Christmas, Happy Holidays whatever they are. I"ll be inclusive of everyone no matter what holiday they participate in.

I hope to talk to people soon, and such. Have a great holiday.

It's funny, that it's not so much about the presents any more, more about just going to be around family. I guess that's what age does to you; that and a steady income ;-).
